Tonight I’m thinking about new beginnings. All day on campus I tucked away from the heat. All around me flew the buzzing of new arrival. Students. Parents. People buying calendars and socks. Textbooks and T-squares. Picking up keys. People getting on nerves. People eating what they didn't want to eat over long, long car drives and after, showing up in need of nourishment. People upon people ready to begin.
Me too. I’m ready for a good one. I’m excited to meet and connect with the students and new faculty friends I’ll be mixing up this new cocktail of a year with.
The sun is hot. The moon is full. Let’s do this. Lucky, lucky us.
