We are so glad to open the semester with a visit from the bold, insightful, and energetic Samiya Bashir!
Dubbed a “dynamic, shape-shifting machine of perpetual motion,” by Diego Báez, Samiya Bashir is a poet, writer, librettist, performer, and multi-media writer whose work, both solo and collaborative, has been widely published, performed, installed, printed, screened, experienced, and Oxford comma’d from Berlin to Düsseldorf, Amsterdam to Accra, Florence to Rome and across the United States.
Join her in a conversation about her life’s practice and practicing life as an interdisciplinary maker. Samiya will be offering a mentorship session & conversation with students and the community on building and sustaining a creative life.
This event is organized in partnership with the RCAH Center for Poetry.
